Why are people on this site so mean?

I want to know why people come on here and answer questions like a jerk. I see lots of people asking sincere questions and in need of real advice (myself included) and the answers are nasty and thoughtless. Take a minute and consider the position of the person and if you can't offer some real advice - be it positive or constructive criticism, don't bother. And if you don't understand the question, don't bother either, instead of uming things.

Should a nurse or physician istant call themselves a doctor if...?

Absolutely not. In the clinical setting a "doctor" is an MD or DO, or in sub-specialties could be a dentist, podiatrist, or optometrist. Chiropractors, as well, in their own practice can call themselves doctor. A PA or an NP do many of the same things as doctors, but they are not the same. Even having a doctoral degree in something else, doesn't matter. Calling myself doctor would confuse the patients and might be considered mis-representing myself, which in many states can get your license revoked. If you want to be called doctor, go to a 4-yr medical school.

Personally I got my son circised because I didn't want him to grow up and have girls laugh at him. But there really are no medical or hygeine advantages to circision it's really just what you want for your child. Anyone agree with me that no one acknowledges the abuse some men put up with from women?

I think the idea of men hurting women all the time although common is very tiring and sometimes ends up with a situation where men who are being harred and abused by women get neglected; the issue gets neglected. I think there are cases when women intimidate their spouses or guys they want to use to get money out of them and I think that is sad but publicly doesn't get addressed as much as men smacking women around so it creates a stereotype that men never get hurt and are always the aggressor. Like I think some women attack men with emotional intimidation or using their bodies to get men to do their bidding. I am not trying to be negative. I just think there is a negative stereotype out there that women are always the victims in abusive relationships and men are always the aggressors when it could just as easily be the other way around but the woman might be cursing the guy out for every little annoying thing instead of throwing him against a wall. I remember seeing several times on TV when the woman worked the man's face over smacking his cheek for supposedly being a jerk and disappointing her. That's just as wrong as a man punching a woman against a wall or raping her for annoying him.

Okay, so it all started out with scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and having to wear a soft brace. that started in august, 2005 to may, 2007. It was a brace called spinecor that had several straps that went all around my back and under my armpit. It seemed the more I wore it, the more irritating the blister got under my armpit. Unfortunately the brace did not work and I had spinal fusion in September, 2007. Problem is I STILL HAVE THE BLISTER. It's been since may of 07 since my brace and I thought time would heal it. I don't shave under there and i put deodorant below it and it is still irritating. It's just a lump probably a little smaller than a dime. It hurts when I touch it too. It won't go away. Please, I'm begging someone to tell me what this is. Is it a callus, blister, wart? Yeah I know I should go to a doctor but who...dermatologist? Please don't just say "duh, see a doctor". Please give me specific details. Will they have to perform surgery on it or cut it off? I'm not popping it! it hurts like he**. Is there any over-the-counter medicine I can take? Like a cream or something? I have no idea what it is! I mean it isn't waking me up in the middle of the night or anything but it's irritating me sometimes in the day. From the way it sounds, however, it maybe several things. 1. Memory bad. 2. PSU bad. try and see if you cant test each memory stick out (like put 1 stick in and not the other) and see if it fixes itself.

I was just diagnosed with genital HSV-1 17 days ago and I need some advice!!!!?

I have previously asked a question and did not get much feedback but I sure would like some advice from people that has been living with this dreadful virus!! I did get this through with my husband of 20 years. We were very lucky and blessed for many years. I guess we both were stupid and did not know this could happen. My doctor put me on Valtrex 4 days after I started the virus because I thought I had a staph infection and so did my PA were I did cut myself with a razor. Anyway, It being my first time the symptoms have been horrible and it did start clearing up around the 5th day of therapy and all was going well and I was sure I was almost over it. I was given a 10 day supply of Valtrex and when I completed it all was good. Now the rawness has came back with a vengeance and my doctor has continued my Valtrex. The soreness from my lymph nodes has never left. How long does this go on. I miss making love to my husband and it is getting me down. Is it typical for the lst time to last this long. My doctor thought that 10 days of therapy with Valtrex should have cleared it up. What helps with the rawness? God Bless each and everyone of you guys that suffer thru this. I know things could be worse but this is just so aggravating. I need some advice and I do appreciate anyone that will take the time to read this and answer. Thanks so much!!!

I have 3 kids, I was a single mom w/them most of their lives & being organized REALLY saved my a$$ a few times! It really is not that hard to take care of 2 kids...especially when they are little! Get your daughter on a schedule right now. Bedtimes. Bath times. Feeding times. Play times. Nap times. All of these things can b well in place and working for you b4 the new baby comes! And then get him/her on a similar schedule as the 1yr old! And then schedule ur cleaning, washing and other household chores w/their schedule! Wash dishes right after the meal (so they don't pile up). Do laundry and vacuuming when they are napping. But don't forget to schedule some MOMMY time as well! And don't feel guilty for doing this! It is something that we moms often times forget to do! And we need it! But, like I said, if U are organized and have the kids on a routine, U will see that U wont get as overwhelmed as before and that will ease ur stress and strain! If U start to feel overwhelmed, talk to some1! Ur OB/GYN. Family. Friends. Hubby. Some1! Don't let it get as bad as it did before! U have been there now and know the signs! Helpful Information on Italy?

My husband and I stayed in San Giuliano Terme when we went to Pisa. It's only about 5 km from Pisa. It's a small village that is a short train ride away. We took the bus into Pisa. Make sure to buy your tickets before you board the bus, you pay double if you buy them from the driver. We stayed at the Hotel Granduca which provided breakfast to us. The hotel is nice but the rooms are not luxurious even though it is a 4 star hotel. Cinque Terra is also supposed to be very nice. Don't focus on the Tower alone when you go, there is a lot more to see there. Visit Santa Maria della Spina, a tiny gothic church on the river. I checked out wikipedia before we left and got several great ideas on where to visit. We ate at a great resteraunt there called Osteria I Santi at 71/73 Via Santa Maria very near the tower. The food was great and so were the prices. Make sure to hear the guard sing at the Baptistry, it was absolutely beautiful. Have a great trip!

I was wondering what clothes style I really am. Some people call me goth, some call me punk and things like that. The paperback copy I've got does have the pronunciation guide. Mine is the one with Saphira on the front, so I don't know if the one with the movie stuffs in it has the guide or not. (And if you ask me, if you plan to get the book, I'd go with the one that matches the hardback and not the movie cover, mainly cause it looks better and some of the characters' appearances contradict how they are described as looking in the book.) I recently sold my mobile home. The couple that bought it came to look over the place 3 different times. I have signed over the title for the property and have received all money from the couple that bought it. Since I signed the title over to them that makes the mobile home their property, no longer my problem. Well today they called me, and were fussing that there was some sheetrock dmg. Rewind to the 1st time they came to look at the mobile home. I showed them every ding I knew of including this one. Keep in mind this is a 10 yr. old mobile home, so of course it will not look brand new, if they wanted that they should have gone and bought a brand new one. I don't want to be a teacher anymore, but that's what everyone suggests to me. People seem to think I'm nuts for leaving teaching. I taught in an urban district where kids threw desks, but I don't want to teach even in an affluent one. I like kids and am decent with them, but I'd prefer to work with adults. I shadowed an Orientation and Mobility Specialist and didn't like it. I took a counseling cl and liked it but wasn't crazy about it. I ruled out librarian and speech pathologist. I've applied for jobs at nonprofits, recruiting, admissions counseling, higher ed administration, and didn't get them. I can keep trying but my resume doesn't have the experience those jobs want. I went for an informational interview at an educational publishing company but nothing came of it, despite my followups. Now I feel stuck. I'm not outstanding at math or computers, but I did graduate in the top ten of my high school cl, so I'm good at most school type things. I don't want to be in front of a crowd all day putting on a show (part of why i didn't like teaching), but I'm not a wallflower either. People tell me I'm friendly and make a good impression. I like interacting with people but I'm not a salesperson. I'm squeamish so I wouldn't try to be a nurse. I'm willing to go to grad school as long as I feel pionate about the career choice. I have to stay in the Northeast though due to my husband's good job... I feel like I've taken every career test out there (I'm an INFJ), but they keep suggesting the same jobs I've already explored. Cruises-staterooms?

We have been on 3 cruises. We have been on two Royal Caribbean and 1 Holland America. On the 1st RC we just had 1 room for all four of us and that was just way too cramped. The 2nd RC we had 2 rooms, and that was a lot better, but it was still kinda annoying. On the Holland America one, we had adjoining rooms, and that was really nice. We like Royal Caribbean a lot better though. We might be going on the Vision of the Seas this summer-do they have adjoining rooms? This is a paper for English cl? An actual essay? This sounds a diary entry. Exactly grade are you in...? Well, first off, the casual tone irritated me a bit(i.e. "point blank pissed off). Considering this is an ENGLISH paper, SLANG is a no-no. NEVER USE SLANG. The use of similes was a nice attempt, but they need to be reworded. One hint, the heart does not lie within the stomach. Nor can it. "Like tires filled with air, too much, ready to burst" This is redundant. Fix it. Never ask the reader questions("What had I done wrong?"). If you're asking yourself the question, be sure to say so, preferably in quotations. The ENTIRE paper is choppy. Add some transitions and compound/complex sentences. Almost all of the senctences start with "I...". You need to add variety in order to keep the reader interested. DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT use vague pronouns("this girl..."). Yet another way to bore the reader. Add detail instead. The final paragraph started off strong(I particularly liked the introductory sentence), but quickly became weak. You need to use stronger adjectives and avoid useless, vapid repetition, i.e. "what _____ is, what ______ is." There are nouns for those, hun. Be sure that the introductory sentences of each paragraph actually introduce the paragraph, rather than continue the previous one(that would defeat the point of adding a new paragraph). Fix punctuation, grammar, etc. Just a reminder: Use more sentence variety! Reading a plethora of choppy, boring sentences bores the reader. Oh, I will note, however, that I liked the concluding sentence of the first paragraph. The "atom bomb...". THAT was nice. However, don't abuse the figurative language(you used some consecutive similes. It seemed a bit forced and repetitive). Well, I hope I helped. YOU BETTER NOT HAVE DELETED THIS BY THE TIME I FINISH.

yup, I've got all of the above.. Do I have a virus? I've given up & I'm taking the pc in Monday. I've got dialup and a cheapie provider (Peoplepc.com) It sez in the IP a connection w/the server could not be established. I finally called peoplepc and they said 'delete ur IE 8 and go for IE 6 which is more compatible. I deleted the 8 (& it reverted back to 6.) Weirdly enough I CAN use my Firefox.. why is that? I deleted my GoogleChrome (it didn't work either.) I'm all connected. I couldn't do a system restore but I did (sounds the same to me) something called 'revert back to an earlier time ur pc worked.' I've got the Windows firewall/anti vir. that came w/the Compaq pc, and I also do defrags. I've got Windows defender, Sweepie, Spybot, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware (oh u get the drift.) Would you call my son excessively noisy?

We're living in a semi detached 'kit' house, the two houses are one building with a dividing wall between them. The floor boards upstairs are a bit loose and creaky (we can't make repairs, just to add, we're renting and our letting agent doesn't feel that repairing the floorboards is a priority because they're not a danger, no about to collapse and not so loose as to cause injury). I have two kids, a 3 yr old little boy and a 1 yr old little girl, and my son's favourite game is to pretend he's a racing car and run back and forth from bedroom to bedroom which let him do because it means I can get the tidying done and he's out of my hair for a. It's not a regular thing, it's just something he does when I'm upstairs, tidy's making beds, etc, but it is a bit noisy when he hits those creaky floor boards. The other day, while clearing out wardrobes and making space for winter clothes, which took me a couple of hours (the first time I've done this since we moved here 7mths ago), and my neighbour came in and, in a really rude and confrontational tone, demanded that my son be confined to the living room and not allowed to play upstairs from now on. OK if this noise was at an absurdly unsociable hour of the morning or night, but this was 4 in the afternoon, and he's got two kids of his own (although both are in their early 20's now) So my question is, do you think that a toddler running around in his own home on the odd occasion is an unacceptable amount of noise? Should I keep him confined in one room until the spring when the weather picks up just to keep my neighbour happy? What would you do in my situation?

I guess it really depends on ones gene pool. My mother has been smoking since she was 14 and now at 85, is as healthy as a horse. No cough, no lung problems, no ociated diseases. I dont think you know really what you want. Considering outlook and thunderbird are pulling mail from web based emails. I would suggest using gmail in an IMAP setting vs a POP3. As an IMAP you can still forward your email to a program like thunderbird or outlook, etc. but still keep it in your web based email so incase you are not at home you can check it elsewhere. So yes you are interested in gmail or yahoo, and I HIGHLY SUGGEST GMAIL for what you are wanting to do.

My fish tank is over 80degrees!!?

I'm experiencing a heat wave and the room my fish tank is located in is unbearably hot. With the heater off all day, the tank has managed to still skyrocket. It is about 82 degrees and I don't know what to do. I just got new fish and I don't want any to die from temp fluctuations or from it simply being way too hot. I tried putting ice cubes in the tank but I think I'm just making the problem worse because the temp goes back up a little while after. Anybody have any suggestions? Is it better to wait until you have a 4 year degree and then try for OCS or do ROTC. in either case do you still have to go through basic training? How do I stop peeing at night?

When I was little, about 5 or 6 years old, I was diagnosed with UTI. I've had peeing problems during the years, but it gradually became more normal as time went by. I just find it annoying that I almost always wake up by 3 or 4am in the morning to pee. Is there anyway to stop this? I heard diuresis (or was that just diuretics?) could affect your memory. Is it true with UTI? Is there a way for me to be able to stop waking up early in the morning to due this and finally experience a nice uninterrupted sleep?

How do you fix a broken nutt in the uni body connected to the rear springs?

I removed bolt from rear shackle. Front bolt connected to frame was rusted to in the bushing. When trying to unscrew bolt, it would pull of the framing. Loosened the bushings but at the same time had broken the nut in the uni body. Now the bolt only rotates. Any suggestions on how to remove and replace with out cutting into the frame.
